In 2001, Jan Pye graduated from DeVry University with a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, then went on to pursue a Masters degree in Financial Management and Business from Keller Graduate School of Management.  In addition to her duties on the council, she continues her service to her constituents by serving on numerous boards, including the Regional Access Project and the Palm Springs Cemetery district Board, through which she remains in touch and abreast of activities in the surrounding communities.

For her achievements, Ms. Pye received the Distinguished Citizenship Award and Shiny Apple Award from the Palm Springs Unified School District.  Although she is proud of the awards she has received, her most rewarding accomplishment has been garnering support from the community, not because of her power, but because of her actions and ability to remain a true public servant.
